Okay kiddies, here’s one for you to ponder.

This curious pattern came from less than 100 feet from the house yesterday. The bottom image is the same shot, a portion enlarged to 270% to give you better odds for telling us what we’re looking at here.

Fred First holds masters degrees in Vertebrate Zoology and physical therapy, and has been a biology teacher and physical therapist by profession.
