Plan to join us this Saturday night–for the movie and beans and rice. You’ll be glad you did. The movie is about hunger in America, and the so-what that derives from that–a great topic as we enter a new year of food-and-ag refocus in Floyd on our own soil and farmers and school-nutrient providers.

In one sense, it was an unlikely feat to pull together and produce an independently organized TED event in our tiny community. But really, considering the fabric of Floyd, it is no marvel that with the talent and experience and sense of cooperation and community here, we now have a time capsule and broad-brush sketch of at least a certain part of the larger culture of this place.
