In my theological attempts to understand the world of nature and of man, there have been and more than ever are two kinds of evil, two kinds of negative forces at work: natural evil that is the consequence of physical laws that run their course (floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, blizzard and pandemic) and sometimes there are people in the way. Stuff happens.
And there is moral evil, the consequence of choices men make when they would be like gods, and willing to attain opulent mortality or to approximate immortality at any cost to man, beast or planet. Some of the former evils now are being caused by the latter: moral evil is impacting humanity at the level of natural systems made sinister by human hubris and greed. Collateral damage on the way to the top.
The cesspool of moral evil is full to overflowing. But maybe if we rise from our lethargy, apathy and entertainment-induced numbness to finally smell the stink, we’ll become outraged enough to take up arms–figuratively, or maybe literally. More and more, I see our children and theirs in outright conflict with a system gone to the Dark Side.
And lastly, but at the very top of the list, the Kochtopus. If you want to understand today’s aberrations of what was once called TRUTH, go behind the scenes at Koch Industries. BOOKMARK these links if you can’t check them now. Here is the apparent future of the American Corporate One Party System.

The billionaire brothers who are waging a war against Obama
With apologies to Loudon Wainwright for stealing his lyrics for the title.
Democracy has been in trouble since Eisenhower predicted it by saying “beware the military/industrial complex”. Corporations have multitudes of lobbyists for each congressman (and woman) and have much fuller access to OUR representatives because of corporate $.
We must pass laws that transform all federal elections to public funding only, and severely limit corporate access and $ contributions to politicians (and their favorite charity).
Until we do this democracy is a sham. Too bad most Americans don’t recognize these issues.

I bookmarked your links and shared them on my Facebook page. Thanks for posting them.
Intolerance, hate and misinformed, uneducated people are the result of the words of such powerful, greedy, and rich people. Thanks for the links. By the way I believe that natural events such as floods etc. are not evil rather Mother Nature’s way of being. Thanks for the insight. — barbara
Well, brother Fred, you’ve gone to meddling now. I read the linked articles and am stunned at the lengths that greedy people will go to. I think I read in the good book “that the love of money is the root of all evil.” The connections that these evil men have paid for to advance their narrow agendas poison the so-called political discourse in this country. Rather than having an honest open debate about real differences in philosophies and priorities, the discussion is manipulated by the very rich who only want to protect their obscene wealth. Nothing new here, except that the digital age has given them new tools and more than one celebrity ignoramus to promote their distortions and evil. Their assessment that the country is in trouble is correct, but they have identified the wrong enemy and need to look into the mirror. Thanks for the links. Be brave, friend!

Yeah John…
Yeah, fools rush in. But man, I’m seeing Darth Vader in a three piece suit masquerading as The Voice of Reason and he is gaining fans faster than poop draws flies–flies that think they will soar like eagles with such Champions of Free Enterprise who are above the puny notions of right and wrong, Real Leaders who understand its all about wealth, power and the Upper Hand. The stupid flies had better beware the swatter held behind the back! Luke, I am Your Father!
I do go on…
