News @ 7: From the Middle of Nowhere!

UPDATE 8:00 a.m: The 3 minute video clip is on the WDBJ web site for a couple of days. I will archive it to YouTube or someplace later this week. Thanks to Bob Grebe and crew for their kind words and efforts on our behalf. And  who is that old man in the video anyway?

News at Channel 7 (Roanoke VA) that is, and I’m not actually sure about the time. Whenever Bob Grebe is doing the morning news tomorrow—Wednesday June 3–in the morning and possibly again at noon.

Bob and camera man Len were out here last Wednesday filming on a day with just barely enough light but thankfully without rain for the segment that will air tomorrow. We, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how it turns out, will not be able to see it live since we haven’t had TV for quite a few years.

But my hope is that somebody out there will have TiVo and be able to snag a digital version for me so I can get it uploaded and linked from the Fragments sidebar and from the Books Web Site as well.

Or then again, I may pay you to burn it and never mention it again. We’ll just have to see. – Fred

  1. I told you years ago one day we would say our neighbor is a famous author and now you are. You do us proud, neighbor. And you do not look old in the clip, you and Ann both look fantastic.

  2. Nice spot Fred. They did a very good job. I hope you get the spot saved off to youtube/get a link to it from here.

  3. The video clip is great !! NEWS Ch 7 did a great job. It’s good to hear your voice from across the miles.

The “cameo” appearance by Ann is also cool. It’s good to see Ann.
Great video of your home and land.

I have started reading What We Hold, but have not had time to really get to it. Lot of “outside” stuff been going on.

Keep up the great work……….take care, and give Tsuga a big bone !!!!!

  4. Fred — Loved both of the videos! I do hope you find a way to make them part of your site. Perhaps you can find a way to run loops at places where your books are for sale – or at least where you’re having book signings. Congratulations! Georgia
