You Want This Woman Pres When McClain Kicks Off?

Let’s let the fox guard the henhouse. Great idea!

In an interview released today by Newsmax, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) – Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) newly minted running mate – was asked for her “take on global warming and how is it affecting our country.” “A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location,” Palin said, adding, “I’m not one though who would attribute it to being man-made.” DeSmogBlog notes that NASA and the National Academy of Sciences disagree:

The first greenhouse gas demonstrated to be increasing in atmospheric concentration was carbon dioxide, formed as a major end product in the extraction of energy from the burning of the fossil fuels—coal, oil, and natural gas—as well as in the burning of biomass.

UpdateDan Weiss and James Kvaal note that Palin is a “champion for Big Oil.” They write, “She supports more drilling in protected areas of the Outer Continental Shelf and the Alaska Natural Wildlife Refuge, once attacking McCain for his ‘close-mindedness on ANWR.” link

And what does this McCain pick do to the “no experience” charge towards Obama? Hello? And thank you for this gift, JMc.

  1. Mr. kenju, who will vote for McCain for one reason only (abortion), said tonight that McCain had just handed the Presidency to Obama~! YAY!

(Our votes always cancel each other out!)

  2. She’s also supportive of “teaching the controversy” about evolution/creationism.

I’m not sure what to make of this choice. It’s either the most cynical thing ever done in this election (as an obvious grab for dissatisfied Hillary supporters) or a sign of McCain’s growing dementia. The wife thinks it is a concession on McCain’s part that he knows he cannot win the election and is trying to look historic.

  3. Arrrrgh………..Why isn’t the McCain Campaign just over, with all his mistakes, misspeaks and bumbling? How can such a travesty continue? Could it be racism?

Hillary whipped up a bogus illusion of martyrdom and gender discrimination in the Primary and unnecessarily wounded the Obama campaign in the service of her ego. Her more rabid followers, such as the PUMA group, are vowing to vote for McCAin, in esssence to vote for the War, tax cuts for the rich, and to rescind Roe vs. Wade, simply to vent their bitterness about the imaginary ( in this case) glass ceiling. Ironically, Palin, in her attitudes, policies and lifestyle is even more an agent of patriarchal society than McCain. At least he doesn’t want to drill Anwar.

Hey, I wonder if Cheney and Palin are planning a get-acquainted hunting party?
